Personal:

I used to be a runner in high school, but then I ended up choosing to just mainly focus on soccer. I played at UVU and that was a lot of fun! But now that soccer is over I am setting new running goals! I am married to the love of my life, Nick Beard, and even though he doesn’t love running, he is my number one supporter in all that I do and my best friend. :)

Today I ran in the mountains for a trail run in Tabiona! We were visiting some family there and right before we went on a four wheeling adventure I thought it would be fun to go out and run for like 30 minutes! It was hilly and dusty but it was really pretty and I had a blast! :)

Hey Whitney - great to see you on here. You know, a few of the faster girls from East are on here plus Conner Mantz from Skyview High in Logan.

Try to make all your runs at least 30 minutes or four miles - whichever comes last. There's an old running saying, "out the door, no less than four". The reason why is that the body secretes a chemical called endothelin which enlarges and strengthens the heart so that it can pump more blood. The problem is, it doesn't begin secreting endothelin until about 30 minutes into a workout.

Oh okay! So is it bad if you don't go more that 30 minutes? Like what about repeat 800s or just a light run of some sort if I have soccer the same day?
